Anther + Moss is a design-led houseplant accessories brand (think: plant pots etc.)
We’re a young company that publicly launched during the depths of lockdown 1.0. We’re growing rapidly, riding the wave of *everyone* realising that having plants in their house is a good thing!
We believe this trend will continue, and that while these new houseplant consumers (mostly city dwelling millennials) are served extremely well with places to buy plants they’re severely let down when it comes to well designed pots and accessories. This is where A+M comes in.
Our results so far suggest we’re not alone in this thinking 👯♂️
We’ve spent the last few months proving there is strong demand for our product among our target shops: independent plant shops and design-led homeware/lifestyle shops. We’re looking for someone to take the work we’ve done so far and run with it.
Over the first year your primary objective will be to increase the number of wholesale customers by 5x while maintaining and improving the wholesale customer experience.
We’ll give you the play book we developed while signing up our existing wholesale customers, but also the freedom to make the changes and run the experiments you believe in.
You’ll have responsibility for anything and everything wholesale, all the way from how we generate and nurture our leads, to packaging and order fulfilment, and from increasing order value to ensuring the experience of being an A+M wholesale customer is positive and relaxing.
However, rather than just leaving you to it, you’ll get all the support you need to be successful.
You’ll be joining as a member of our founding team, with everything that goes along with that. From having influence in all major decisions and helping to define and set culture, to pitching in on packing orders and customer support.
As the company grows, so the role will grow and change with it. Before long you’ll be building and managing a team, and, we hope, cementing your place in the leadership of A+M.
We’re open to applicants from all sorts of backgrounds. Having experience and knowledge of a similar role would be great, however we’re happy for you to pick a lot of this up on the job. What we care about most is attitude.
We’re looking for someone who’s excited about the wide ranging nature of this job. You’ll be comfortable working in an environment with a high-level of uncertainty, where most things you do are experiments and could change at any moment.
It’s a cliché for a job ad, but we’re looking for someone who is excellent at problem solving. For us this means finding answers to big questions with no obvious solutions - we’ll support you with systems and processes that make this task easier, but we want someone that’s excited at the prospect of it.
We want someone that is highly logical and happy prioritise ruthlessly, but who will treat their team members with both empathy and respect, helping us to create a culture within which we can all thrive both personally and professionally.
Most of all we’re looking for someone who really knows how to get sh*t done, who’s comfortable operating at speed, and with incomplete information. They’ll have the confidence to back themselves, and the humility to ask for help when they need it.

A+M was founded by Tim who has 10+ years of startup experience, working in leadership/co-founder positions in both London and SF. This includes spending the last 4 years working as a growth consultant and advisor, teaching the very best of Silicon Valley style growth process to some of the UK’s fastest growing startups.
He created Anther + Moss to be a company optimised for quality of life rather than world domination. This doesn’t mean that the goals aren’t aggressive or that we’re not going to work hard, they are, and we are. But what it does mean is we explicitly acknowledge that success at work is hollow without space for a rich and fulfilling life outside of work.
At Anther + Moss we’re taking the best bits of startups and using them to build a business that grows fast, but is calm and stable, where we’re fulfilled both inside and outside of the office. Where we want to achieve great things, but refuse to do it at the expense of enjoying ourselves along the way.
