Technical Project Manager

We are seeking a Technical Project Manager in Reston, Virginia to support the Program Manager on a very unique set of projects. We are looking for an individual who is a natural leader of project teams, with a technical background, and have an instinctual understanding of the stakeholder’s requirements with an ability to scope and deliver accordingly while motivating the project team to execute.

What you’ll do…

Develop project plans and schedules, manage teams to timelines & milestones, identify & mitigate risks, resolve interdependencies, remove obstacles for project teams, communicate regular status updates to the Program Manger and serve as the primary interaction point with project stakeholders
Ensure teams align with strategic roadmaps for key capabilities
Simultaneously lead and manage large international projects across multiple countries both remotely and in person
Monitor and manage all activities and critical path tasks to ensure on-time solution delivery and cross-team, cross organizational coordination and communication
Work closely with multiple internal departments teams to ensure on time delivery of projects

Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time

You’d be a great fit if…

Have a bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, or other technical related field

Have practical experience with:
Managing complex multimillion-dollar programs and projects
Working in an international telecom environment
Working directly with global mobile network operators
Strong management skills with the ability to coordinate and manage team members in diverse locations:
5+ years overall technical experience
5+ years experience working with international mobile operators

Have technical knowledge of:
General knowledge and operational understanding of GSM, UMTS, LTE technologies
Basic understanding of mobile network signaling operations is preferred.
Microsoft project
Agile development methodologies

Have the personal skills with:
Multi-cultural business environment; including field deployment, acceptance processes and support services
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven expertise in managing international teams
Be a self-starter able to work in a fast pace environment with minimal direction.
Have the ability to work independently on complex problems and collaborate across cross functional teams

It would be even better if you…

Experience using Jira to manage development teams
Enjoy researching solutions to complex problems by analyzing telecommunication markets, standards, and technologies.

SECURITY CLEARANCE: This position requires the candidate to already have a current TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance, the ability to maintain the clearance, and show proof of U.S. citizenship.
