Our Product Technology Solutions group within Global Retail Markets is seeking a highly technical, individual contributor Data Engineer to support the development of telematics and mobility insurance products.

This position will be heavily involved with a top priority of Global Retail Markets – expanding our telematics capabilities to new products, brands and countries. With several telematics products already in market and the portfolio expanding, this role will be responsible for providing support across the telematics initiatives through project management, analytics, and growing an understanding of how best to leverage technology infrastructure to speed new product development. This is a hands-on, high visibility role where you would manage engagement and communication with stakeholders ranging from executives to developers to front line call centers and agents. The role will report to a Director I of Telematics and help drive execution of Liberty’s Product Technology Solutions team.

Responsibilities:
Utilize a multidisciplinary approach to solving data analytics problems, combining technical expertise with analytics and business knowledge
Collect, wrangle, and visualize data, and maintain high levels of data integrity and accuracy.
Process, maintain, and aggregate high-volume data
Work with data scientists and business partners, developing subject matter expertise as well as advanced analytics skills
Leverage “agile” data analysis with technology fluency in parallel processing/programming, software/programming languages and analytical technologies
Provide input to the team with test scripts, execute testing, and work with stakeholders to ensure end user acceptance
Lead discussions with technology, data-warehousing, other internal stakeholders to test and implement new data collection, resolve issues, etc.
Demonstrate analytic agility to meet fluid and dynamic business needs
Serve as point person for moderate to high complexity projects and lead own work stream
Communicate updates to internal and external leadership regularly

Mentor junior team members on technical tools and topics.

Qualifications:
3-7+ years of relevant experience

Bachelors or Master’s degree in an analytical/technical discipline

Strong analytical, collaboration, organization, and presentation skills

Experience creating large and complex datasets

Proficient in SQL

Strong coding skills in at least one scripting language used for analytics (e.g., Python) and/or statistical software package (e.g., SAS)

Excellent written and oral communication skills, including PowerPoint

Ability to work on multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Working knowledge of at least one big data environment (such as Azure, AWS, or Hadoop) is preferred.

Experience in using statistical modeling and/or machine learning techniques to build models that have driven company decision making is preferred.

Advanced knowledge of data sources, and tools is preferred.

The qualified individual can work in Boston or Seattle.
