GeekHive is hiring a Product Owner who is responsible for providing direction to the development team, as well as working & advocating for the client. You’ll work closely with the smartest and most creative people in the industry to solve challenging problems and provide amazing experiences to our clients, our clients’ end users, and our team members.
As a Product Owner you’ll demonstrate team skills to motivate team members to reach their potential & tactical knowledge of Agile process & principles. None of our projects are one-size-fits-all. You’ll need to be comfortable sometimes navigating ambiguous project definitions and molding them into valuable end-products for our clients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide vision and direction to the Agile development team and stakeholders throughout the project
Create the product vision and roadmap which accomplishes the goal of the vision.
Advocate on behalf of the customer for the development team.
Assess value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, epics and themes to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value that are aligned with client objectives
Provide backlog management, iteration planning, and elaboration of the user stories
Review and approve feature releases prior to release to the client
Work with a cross-functional team in planning a release.
Ensures user stories are “ready” for development to start work.
Ensures each story has the correct acceptance criteria.
Gathers, manages, and prioritizes the product backlog.
Ensures close collaboration with the development team.
Works closely with engineering and quality assurance to ensure the right customer problem is solved.
Product Owner requirements and qualifications
Previous working experience as a Product Owner or Manager for at least 4 year(s)
Has technical knowledge or specific domain expertise.
In-depth knowledge of Agile process and principles
Outstanding communication, presentation and leadership skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
Creative thinker with a vision
Attention to detail
Supervisory responsibility: While this role does not include any direct people management it does require the ability to perform effectively in multi-disciplinary teams and manage projects.
