Agile Product Owner, Novelist

We’re looking for an Agile Product Owner (APO) to help build features and applications for NoveList, a division of EBSCO Information Services (EIS), located in Durham, N.C. At NoveList, we believe that books and libraries have the power to transform lives, and we develop innovative solutions for libraries that support them in helping readers and engaging their communities. As a member of the product team, you will take an active role in amplifying the voice of end-users and the product line strategy to your development team.

What you’ll do

Work with an agile development team to deliver great products and services for our customers
Know our products and contribute a genuine passion and enthusiasm for our mission
Develop and maintain productive relationships with all development and business stakeholders to ensure timely and effective delivery of software features and defect resolution
Act as the key stakeholder in user story definition assisting the team with clarification, estimates, story sequencing and team objectives for program increments
Lead user acceptance testing for all new features and be responsible for final approval of features before acceptance into production
Proactively communicate progress, decisions, impediments, and risks
Drive and develop the team demo
Promote continuous improvement

Skills or experience you need

Bachelor’s degree
2+ years working as a business analyst or in product management (preferably as a product owner)

Skills or experience that sets you apart

Experience working directly with technology teams as a product owner
Experience defining and documenting product requirements into small, well-articulated deliverables
Experience in the information industry, libraries, or library technology platforms
Experience with SAFe, Lean, and Agile software development
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent negotiation/influence and leadership skills
