Senior Architect/Project Manager

Established in Annapolis in 1996 — and with newly expanded offices in Charlottesville, VA, Middleburg, VA and Greenbrier, WV — Purple Cherry Architects is a high-end custom residential architecture and interior design firm serving the Eastern United States.

We seek an energetic and seasoned architect to help lead our vibrant team in Charlottesville, VA on a wide range of custom residential and commercial projects. We are interested in hearing from enthusiastic and driven individuals with leadership skills, 8+ years of high-end residential or commercial experience in an architecture firm, and with proficiency in ArchiCad or Revit Software.

What You Will Be Doing

· Participate in all phases of design (Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, Construction Administration)

· Meet with clients and potential clients, demonstrating polished professionalism

· Lead or participate in presentations that communicate design concepts

· Generate designs that can be technically implemented within the constraints of the project goals, budgets and within local ordinances and codes

· Collaborate with a team of Architects and Designers in developing design solutions

· Develop plans that achieve beautiful design as well as function

· Prepare design/construction documents and other deliverables

· Take project lead responsibility for a group of architects and designers

· Oversee and manage project schedules and budgets

· Monitor all phases of project design to minimize rework

· Share expertise to ensure a quality design and documentation process

· Demonstrate a high degree of competence, capability, and architectural experience

· Make independent decisions on architectural problems and methods

· Perform assignments that may require the development of new or improved architectural techniques and procedures

· Apply skills to minimize risks and seek means to improve efficiencies and reduce costs

· Review and approve all work performed under his/her supervision

· Responsibility for ensuring compliance with all codes, zoning, and standards

· Supervise the preparation of and check the accuracy of construction documents

· Provide leadership and motivation to a team that is performing a sequence of tasks in order to meet milestones

· Work to meet or exceed QA standards

· All other duties assigned by the Principal

Your Qualifications

· Degree in Architecture from an accredited university

· Licensed architect

· 8 years or greater experience
