A Silicon Valley stealth stage startup has the following opportunity:
Job Title: Battery Cell Technology Manager

As a cell technology manager at LytEn, you are responsible for development of battery materials technology for various challenging applications. The battery Cell Team at LytEn is looking for an innovative Materials Engineering Project Manager to rive materials innovation projects where you are encouraged to bring to bear your cell materials science acumen to enable multi-functional teams to deliver groundbreaking solutions. You will understand lithium based rechargeable cells and have a passion for upending conventional wisdom of material and cell a design to push industry boundaries and deliver cell chemistries with 2X to 3X the specific energy density of commercial solutions. You understand commercial standards in battery cell design and manufacturing.

Key Qualifications
5+ years of battery industry experience, taking technologies from concept to commercial product. Experience with lithium ion batteries, knowledge of Lithium-Sulfur cell chemistry is a plus
+1 year of technical project management experience in material development, cell design, and manufacturing process development
Knowledge of current state of the art lithium ion battery production process a
Proven adeptness in working in a fast-paced, start-up environment; engaged and eager to learn.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
Strong ability to customize and articulate relevant information for the right audience.
Experienced in setting up project plans, project risks, and react swiftly to communicate and mitigate setbacks
Ability to comprehend, communicate and lead complex design trade-offs.
Thrives in a fast-paced environment; demonstrated agility to handle ambiguity.
Able to multi-task and wear multiple hats as needed
Job Description
Lead a team of materials scientist, chemists and process engineers, utilizing a strong technical background to identify, assess and communicate project risks and issues.
Drive day-to-day program activities to meet program objectives.
Develop project plans, lead, track and report progress to plan and drive solutions to address any/all identified gaps.
Identify and prioritize project tasks and risks, drive materials engineering discussions and decisions.
Identify and engage internal engineering and materials production partners fro meet project objectives and milestones.
Education & Experience
MS in Material Science with 5+ years of relevant experience or,
PhD in Materials sincere or related technical discipline with relevant industrial experience
