We’re looking for a self-driven Product Owner focused on represent the voice of both the member and employee to execute WSECU’s digital vision. You’ll continuously work with stakeholders to define and prioritize the backlog, to ensure alignment with member, employee and program needs to maximize business value. You’ll be key member of the Agile Scrum team with significant effort investing in working collaboratively with both internal and external partners to fulfill the Credit Union’s digital strategy
Your day may include:
Establishing team goals and visions, energizing and encouraging the team to deliver results
Responsible for Product Backlog, activities including:
Owning and maintaining Product Backlog
Prioritizing items in the Product Backlog to best achieve goals and the digital vision.
Working with the Scrum Master to optimize the value of the work
Ensuring that the Product Backlog is visible, transparent, and clear
Ensuring the team understands items in the product backlog
Delivering feedback to stakeholders from feedback, testing and team recommendations
Evaluating solutions with team members for future features
Collaborating organizational readiness and delivering completed work produced by the team
Leading a plan for portfolio roadmap; setting and coordinating expectations for delivering of new functionality
Working with the team to ensure the proper scoping and detailing of requirements for iterative delivery; accountable for acceptance criteria for existing and new products/services
Communicating tradeoffs between expectations and realities to stakeholders and align on prioritization
Staying up to date on relevant industry trends and best practices and constantly exchange ideas
What you bring to the team:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology or a closely related field or equivalent work experience
Three to five years’ experience as a Business Analyst or Product Owner
One to two years of experience with agile methods, frameworks and tools
Leadership skills include empathy, vision, communication, decision-making, stakeholder management, and product ethics
Knowledge of agile methods and frameworks
Strong interpersonal skills; ability to influence across the organization and build strong internal and external partnerships at all levels
Strategic skills include product strategy and product roadmap, analytics, market research and validation, and product discovery
Bonus points if you have:
Scrum Alliance Certified and/or PMI-ACP applicants, and Product Owner Certified candidates
Financial services industry experience
Well-versed in project management methodologies.
Digital financial services product knowledge.
Previous line or operations management experience
Where it’s located: Olympia, WA
When you’d work: Monday – Friday, some flexibility on hours worked may be available.
